They have 4 internal drive bays so it could be useful as a file server, perhaps RAID it Snow Leopard I still use a G5 as a computer at home, I want to get one of these to replace it! It should run pretty well on Snow Leopard, I'd stay away from Lion. It is perfectly suitable for normal internet usage, just be aware that apple will probably not be releasing many if any more security updates for it. It will run office etc.
